Portland Car Dealer: Hyundai Debuts Curb Concept at 2011 Detroit Auto Show
Have you ever dreamed of having the space and versatility of an SUV or crossover in the body of a sporty city-driving vehicle? Well, that’s just what Hyundai has designed with the new Curb Concept car that debuted at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show.
As reported by Motor Trend Magazine, the Curb has all-touchscreen interior controls and other innovative features like tie-downs that sink down into the roof and hide when not in use, exhaust tips that pop out to reveal a bicycle rack and swipe-able touch pads that replace conventional door handles. The unique design also allows for increased outward visibility.
Due to the increasing market for crossovers, vehicles like the Curb may be the next big thing.

New Hyundai Cars: The Three-Door Veloster Debuts at Detroit Auto Show
After years of anticipation, the Hyundai Veloster finally debuts at the Detroit Auto Show. Since Hyundai’s original Veloster concept car, industry professionals and enthusiasts alike have speculated about the final street version. To add to the mystery, Hyundai released a teaser picture of an until then-unknown third door on the passenger’s side just days before the big reveal. The three-door design definitely sets the Veloster apart.
Although the vehicle doesn’t launch until this summer, Motor Trend reports that it weighs less than a Scion tC or a Mini Cooper and will be available with either a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters and is expected to return up to 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. Hyundai’s new Gamma 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine produces 138 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque.On the interior, the Veloster has a unique center stack. It’s capped by a touchscreen that will come standard on all models and features Hyundai’s new Blue Link telematics system. All this and it starts at only $17,ooo.

Portland Car Dealerships: Hyundai Substantially Increases J.D. Power Rankings
Hyundai has announced the 2010 JD Power and Associates Rankings in Sales Satisfaction Index Study (SSI) with increased rankings to number seven overall and greatest improvement. SSI analyzes the new vehicle purchase experience and customer satisfaction by measuring four indicators- working out the car buying deal, sales person, delivery and the dealership facility.
J.D. Power’s Sales Satisfaction Index is an important indicator that we’ve hit the mark when it comes to pleasing our buyers. – Dave Zuchowski, vice president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America.
JD Powers reviewers concluded this year that the manner in which customers are treated at the dealership is more important to consumer satisfaction than the price of the car.
Hyundai Motors continues J.D. Powers recognition, ranking at eleven overall for dependability earlier this year, now stands four rank positions over industry average and up three rank positions since 2009.

New Hyundai Cars: Hyundai And ARK Partner for 2010 Genesis Concept
Consumer Reports wrote an insightful article about how Hyundai partnered with ARK to create the Track Time Attack Genesis Coupe 3.8 L for the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. While the outward appearance has been upgraded and streamlined, the inside has received extensive modifications as well. ARK is a parts supplier from South Korea that manufactures performance exhaust systems, suspension components, and car body parts.
This Genesis Coupe’s appearance upgrades included widened fenders, custom sills and fascias and a carbon fiber hood for a smoking fast look. Inside the extensive modifications included an ARK tuned engine and suspension. The supercharged 3.8 Liter V6 engine is inter-cooled for performance with a reported 585 horsepower!
An exciting development in the partnership between ARK and Hyundai car dealers is that some of the component features on the show car would be available through Hyundai dealerships.
