I have recently returned from a trip to visit the Montgomery, Alabama Hyundai factory. Hyundai Motor America has built Sonatas and Santa Fe’s there since 2005, having recently passed the 1,000,000 mark. The facility was incredible, as clean as a hospital and as quiet as a normal office setting. The 280 robots and 600 humans complete a vehicle every minute….The locals were very friendly and appreciate the fact that Hyundai chose their town for the factory, which is a major local employer and a critical contributor to the economic engine of the state. The town is full of history and we will post my walk around town video shortly, so stay tuned for that. As a Hyundai dealer I am proud to be associated with such a fine parent company and to see the positive effect that creating jobs for Americans has, when so many “American” companies are taking jobs abroad.
