New Hyundai Cars: Hyundai Genesis Tours World’s Largest Roadside Attractions
The Hyundai Genesis vehicle testers at Car and Driver needed a fun road trip to help them reach the 100, 000 mile mark by December 31st. The entire team is pitching in to make the goal, but writer David Gluckman wanted to make a 1001 mile road trip in just 22 hours- without sleep!
This was by no means the world’s longest road trip, although the 1001-mile day was a personal best for me. I thought it would be fitting to take the Genesis—now officially our longest-term car in history—on a tour of “world’s largest” roadside attractions. Here’s how I spent 22 hours with the car (and without sleep).
Making a grand tour of the World’s Largest landmarks, destinations included the World’s Largest Rubber Stamp and World’s Largest Rocking Chair. See below for photos from Gluckman’s road trip.

New Hyundai Cars: Hyundai And ARK Partner for 2010 Genesis Concept
Consumer Reports wrote an insightful article about how Hyundai partnered with ARK to create the Track Time Attack Genesis Coupe 3.8 L for the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. While the outward appearance has been upgraded and streamlined, the inside has received extensive modifications as well. ARK is a parts supplier from South Korea that manufactures performance exhaust systems, suspension components, and car body parts.
This Genesis Coupe’s appearance upgrades included widened fenders, custom sills and fascias and a carbon fiber hood for a smoking fast look. Inside the extensive modifications included an ARK tuned engine and suspension. The supercharged 3.8 Liter V6 engine is inter-cooled for performance with a reported 585 horsepower!
An exciting development in the partnership between ARK and Hyundai car dealers is that some of the component features on the show car would be available through Hyundai dealerships.

With a robust V6 306 hp and 266 lb feet of torque, the Genesis offers drivers the ability to make the most of the upgrades, integrating a six-speed manual transmission to feel the driving experience, a track tuned suspension, performance tires, and a Brembo braking system for high road performance. Even the paint choices are the four colors most common in international racing.
